The Graduate School recently announced the recipients of its annual Summer Funding Competition, an initiative aimed at supporting doctoral students in the final stages of their dissertations. The fellowship awards, each amounting to $4,500, are intended to help students make significant progress toward completing their degrees.
The fellowship recipients for this year include Jeffrey Adams from the College of Arts and Sciences with a focus on English, Akshay from the College of Engineering and Computer Science specializing in computer and information science and engineering, and Erika Arias in political science at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
Additional recipients are Seok Wun (Shiila) Au Yong from the School of Education, Bruce Baigrie in geography, Erin Bisesti in sociology, Eric Cochran in mathematics, and Xiaoyu Fu from Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics specializing in human development and family science.
Other noteworthy recipients include Jessica Fundalinski from the School of Education, Michael Kelly and Shanel Khaliq from the Maxwell School, Hyojeong Kim in public administration, and Minseok Kim specializing in philosophy from the Arts and Sciences.
The School of Education’s Amanda Kingston, Elise Krespan from the biology department, and Akit Kumar in information science and technology are among the awardees, alongside Sanggu Lee in philosophy and Jinfen Li from the School of Information Studies.
Students Tyler Logie, Abigail Long, Desiree Martin, and others in various fields such as earth and environmental sciences, composition and cultural rhetoric, mathematics, and social psychology are also benefiting from this funding.
The selected students represent a diverse range of academic disciplines across the university’s different colleges and schools, showcasing the breadth of research and inquiry being conducted by the graduate community.
