FDA: 4 companies in cities within Onondaga County received 8 citations in 2024

There were four companies in cities associated with Onondaga County that received FDA citations as a result of four inspections conducted in the county throughout 2024, according to reports from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

This is an increase over the number of companies cited in the previous year.

The citations in the county include:

• You did not perform periodic assays as required for medicated feeds requiring a medicated feed mill license, for each drug or drug combination manufactured.
• You did not identify and implement preventive controls to ensure that any hazards requiring a preventive control are significantly minimized or prevented.
• Failure to dispose of toilet wastes through methods assuring sanitary disposal.

Most of the companies cited were involved in the Food and Cosmetics sector.

All of the companies cited should take voluntary actions to correct their managing operations.

The FDA routinely inspects facilities across the nation to determine if the workplace and their products are compliant with FDA-regulated laws and regulations implemented to improve overall public health. Inspection results are then disclosed publicly.
