In an announcement dated April 18, 2024, Syracuse University revealed its plans to transition all campus dining and store locations to operate on a fully cashless basis starting from the Fall 2024 semester. This move aligns with the trend on campus where various departments have already adopted cashless systems, including the JMA Wireless Dome and Parking and Transportation Services.
The university's Auxiliary Services is advocating for the adoption of ’CUSE Cash by the campus community for transactions at campus dining locations, the campus store, and a growing number of off-campus retailers. This payment method offers convenience and a 10% discount on purchases at on-campus dining facilities. Notably, selected off-campus establishments such as Bistro 1926 at Drumlins Country Club, Schoolyard Bagels, and Poke Fish are already accepting ’CUSE Cash.
To facilitate the use of ’CUSE Cash, any member of the Syracuse University community - be it a student, faculty, or staff - can establish an account. Funds can be loaded through the GET app or website and are accessible via the SUID card. Furthermore, ’CUSE Cash balances carry over from semester to semester, with any remaining balance at the end of the academic year being refunded to the student's Bursar account post-Commencement.
For inquiries or assistance in setting up a ’CUSE Cash account, individuals are encouraged to reach out to housing@syr.edu or mealtalk@syr.edu.
